Dufferin Grove

What happens when your client’s style leans towards contemporary but they crave a cottage in the city? You embrace the transition and have them transported to cottage country by the time they step onto their 5-point flagstone patio.

The deck is a seamless continuation of their home with linear styling. The built-in BBQ with concrete panels and the cedar hot tub are all close to the entrance so that they don’t have to go far to enjoy these comforts in cooler weather. The main entertaining areas are at grade as part of a large open concept space. Strategically placed steel planters add just the right amount of height to define the space, and a gorgeous reclaimed wood pergola provides the framework for growing vines. The dining area will be surround by lush green foliage and romantic lighting once the plants have time to grow. The lounge area surrounding the fire pit has 2 carefully selected boulders incorporated into the edge. These were chosen specifically for their ‘perchability’ so that the client has a grounding spot to sip their morning coffee in the garden.

We can’t wait to see this garden really come into it’s own as the plants continue to further develop the character of the space.
